When to have plain water ?

This is your go-to beverage. However if you're sweating from exercise, heat, hot flashes or in the sauna, you will need to add some electrolytes.


How to make water taste good?

There's more to life that sugar and juice. Consider using a variety of flavour families to spice up your water. Think salty, savoury, sour and sweet. Mix and matching works too.


How about electrolytes?

Electrolytes are salts. Table salt is ONE type of salt you can add to water. Our bodies need a variety of "salts" so consider an electrolyte mix. Talk to Dr Andrea about how to do this safely to avoid interactions with pharmaceuticals and to optimize absorption and performance.



Fun Water Recipes

Here are some great recipes to help you increase your water intake and make drinking water a more colourful and tasty experience. Enjoy!



  • 1 cup (1/2 pint) strawberries sliced, 5 large fresh basil leaves torn, 1 lemon thinly sliced
  • 1 cup (1/2 pint) blackberries, 1 orange peeled and thinly sliced, 2-inch (5cm) piece ginger peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 cup (1/2 pint) blueberries, 1 lemon thinly sliced, 4 sprigs fresh rosemary
  • 1 cup pineapple chunks fresh or frozen, 1 cup coconut chunks fresh or frozen, 1 lime thinly sliced
  • 1 apple, 1/2 lemon cut into slices, 1 carrot peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 cup (1/2 pint) strawberries sliced, 1 lemon cut into slices, 10 mint leaves torn
  • 1-2 apricots peeled and sliced, 1 cup (1/2 pint) raspberry, mint leaves torn
  • 1 peach peeled and sliced, 2 plums sliced, 10 mint leaves torn
  • 1 lemon cut into thin slices, mint leaves torn, 1 inch (2cm) ginger peeled and sliced, ½ medium cucumber thinly sliced
  • 1 medium cucumber cut into thin slices, 1 lemon cut into slices, 1-2 celery stalks sliced or whole (add the leaves for a natural look)
  • ½ grapefruit cut into slices or peeled, 2-4 sprigs fresh rosemary
  • ½ cup cranberries, 1 orange cut into slices
  • 1 apple, 1 small orange, 3-4 sticks of cinnamon, cloves (they have a strong flavour, use sparingly)
