## Spread cheer – wrapped in an Eco-bow!

Santa is doing his part for the environment by using the power of magic and reindeer to fuel his sleigh for the around the globe trip. So what can we do during the holidays? One easy way to help our planet is to find creative ideas for gift wrapping. Here are my top 5 wrapping paper alternatives that are fun and practical.

#### 1 – Use newspaper as wrapping paper

The Cartoon or Food sections of the newspaper are my favourites to use as wrapping paper as they offer a good laugh or scrumptious snapshots. The Business section or Classifieds have their own charm as you can use a felt marker to add stars, snowflakes, snowmen or your own Christmas style.

#### 2 – Practical containers

Glass or stainless steel containers for your lunchbox come in all sizes. Use them to ‘wrap’ your gifts both perishable and non-perishable. A pair of socks, a choice book or a handsome watch, there’s a container to fit it.

Reusable lunch bags work just as well and double as a stocking stuffer!

#### 3 – Pretty cloth gift bag

Pick your fabric print or colour and tie with a ribbon. Voila!

#### 4 – Pages from maps

Don’t use that paper map of Ontario or Minnesota anymore? Now your gift wrapping problem has found it’s way!

#### 5 – Reuse old paper

It never goes out of style – Reduce, REUSE, recycle
